All Tacoma T Line service suspended beginning the evening of Monday, April 6 until the end of service April 9
April 2, 2026
Buses will replace T Line trains across the entire alignment from Tacoma Dome to St. Joseph Station from 6 p.m. Monday, April 6 until the end of service Thursday, April 9. This work will replace a broken rail at South 21st Street and Pacific Avenue. During the work, passersby may see and hear concrete cutting and other activities related to the project.
Construction will take place at night after 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. During the day, the intersection will be open for bus transit and other traffic. Fare-free coaches will serve all T Line stops during the closure, running the normal T Line schedule. To assist passengers, additional security and staff ambassadors will be at T Line stations to help people navigate the disruption and get where they need to go.
Sound Transit remains committed to working closely with its partners to continue serving the public. Efforts will continue to prioritize serving riders who depend on Sound Transits services, including seniors, people with disabilities, Title VI-protected populations (race, color, national origin), passengers with low-incomes and those with limited proficiency in English.
A language line is available to provide translation assistance for passengers with limited proficiency in English at (800) 823-9230.
