Out of touch Washington State Republicans are making themselves more and more irrelevant with every passing year

Clouds of black bats flew out from King Birenda’s palace in Kathmandu as this returning trekker sat reading of happenings back home.

The major news of the day: Seattle voters had resoundingly rejected a bid to roll back the city’s recently enacted anti-discrimination ordinance.

Forty-seven years have passed, but state and local Republicans continue to ardently believe the path to power is to demonize. Brandi Kruse, Ari Hoffman, Jim Walsh, and Jason Rantz regularly preach that line to the choir, in discordant notes.

Dan Evans ran for governor and was elected in a Democratic year on the slogan “A Blueprint for Progress,” and would deliver on the same. Pollster Stewart Elway, in a Horizon House lecture this week, projected a chart showing that nowadays, all of twenty-one percent of Washington voters consider themselves Republicans.
