Lynnwood to host collection event for Styrofoam, e-waste

Those with e-waste or Styrofoam to dispose of can bring it to the city of Lynnwood’s collection event Saturday.

The city’s recycling program, in partnership with the Washington State Department of Ecology is hosting the event from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lynnwood Operations and Maintenance Center, 20525 60th Ave. W.

Styrofoam should be placed in clear plastic bags and must be clean, with all tape and stickers removed. Styro Recycle, the city’s Styrofoam collection partner, is not able to collect soft Styrofoam at the event. The organization does accept soft Styrofoam at its Kent location.

The city will accept the following e-waste items:

• Computers, laptops, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice

• Printers, scanners, ink cartridges, fax machines, copy machines

• Servers, routers, hubs, networking devices, communications equipment

• Televisions, VCRs, DVD players, video game consoles, personal digital assistants, handheld games

• Stereos, cell phones, telephones, cameras

• Batteries (lithium-ion only)

• Miscellaneous electronics, microwaves
