Alaska Airlines takes delivery of 2 Embraer planes after tariff delay

Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK) has received two Embraer aircraft from Brazil that it had delayed the delivery of due to tariffs, a company spokesperson confirmed Friday.

The SeaTac-headquartered company received the two Air Embraer 175 regional jets earlier this month after reaching an “agreement” with the Brazilian plane manufacturer, the spokesperson said.

Spokespeople for Alaska and Embraer declined to comment on the terms of the agreement, such as whether the aircraft were discounted to offset a recently imposed 10% tariff on imports from Brazil.

“The two jets are entering service this month,” the Alaska spokesperson said, adding that they will be operated by Alaska subsidiary Horizon Air.
