CVS opens first of 64 PNW stores acquired from Rite Aid
CVS Health Corp. (NYSE: CVS) has officially opened its first of 64 stores in the Pacific Northwest acquired from Rite Aid, marking a new beginning for America's largest pharmacy chain and the end of an era for local staple Bartell Drugs, a Rite Aid subsidiary.
The store, a former Bartell location at 6939 Coal Creek Parkway SE in Newcastle, is now branded with a temporary CVS sign and a fully operational CVS pharmacy.
Shea Manigo, a senior vice president of retail field operations for the Rhode Island-based company, spoke to the Business Journal at a Bartell Drugs in Bellevue. Inside, she outlined the CVS' plans for its recently acquired stores and how the company aims to deliver on its promise to make the transition seamless for customers.
"We're excited about the opportunity to seize the moment," Manigo said. "We're excited for the opportunity to continue to build trust."
