Alaska to launch nonstop flights from Seattle to Rome in 2026

Alaska Air Group will introduce a Seattle-to-Rome route in May 2026.

The SeaTac-based airline announced Tuesday that it will offer nonstop flights next year from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to the Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino International Airport, the first such route out of Seattle.

It’s the third nonstop, international service that Alaska will fly from its hometown, part of its “global gateway” program to have at least 12 international routes out of the Emerald City by 2030. Alaska launched nonstop service to Tokyo and Seoul last month.

“Rome has been at the top of the list ever since we announced our new global gateway out of Seattle,” Alaska Air Group CEO Ben Minicucci said in a news release.
