(2,270 posts)Ive lived in Texas during Paxtons three terms as AG. He is known for filing junk suits. I think of them as harassment suits.
He really shouldnt have a law license anymore.
He actually filed suits against some of the swing states after the 2020 election alleging that they were participants in election fraud. he got that suit to the Supreme Court and they refused to hear it. From a legal standpoint, a suit, claiming that the state of Texas was harmed by the actions of another state during a presidential election is just simply absurd.
There were a number of people, mainly on the Democratic side, that went to the Texas bar demanding that his license practice law in Texas be revoked. He is so nakedly partisan that it even bothers the more rational moderate Republicans here.
His own party tried to impeach him and only the political maneuverings by our esteemed Lieutenant governor Dan Patrick saved his ass.
But if you expect the Texas bar to do the right thing, youre going to be waiting for a long time.
God only knows whats going to happen with this suit. Theres no evidence that Tylenol (acetaminophen) causes autism or is a factor in autism. It is just something that Robert F Kennedy Junior and Trump decided to make up. Im assuming it is all part of the effort to distract from the Epstein scandal.
Paxton is now running for Senate against John Cornyn. In this state, he has a pretty good chance. Ive been here for over 30 years now (which is longer than Ive been anywhere in my entire life) and I dont think that my vote has counted once and I vote in every election with a few exceptions. This state has been stupid for its entire history and I dont expect that to change.
