A man with a bag over his head sits tied to a chair in a field. Without so much as a glance in his direction, an aspiring Texas congresswoman puts a handgun to the back of his head and pulls the trigger. Under a plume of gunsmoke, his head falls forward.

The moment opens a campaign video in which Republican Valentina Gomez calls for publicly executing "any illegal that rapes or kills an American." She posted the video to X on Monday, and it racked up almost 5 million views in under 24 hours.

After moving from Jersey City for an ultimately unsuccessful run for Missouri secretary of state this year, Gomez is gunning for fellow Republican Dan Crenshaw's seat in Congress — and she's sparking public outrage.

"It's that simple," Gomez says after murdering her captive in the video. "Public executions for any illegal that rapes or kills an American. They don't deserve to be deported, they deserve to be ended."

26. After I wrote this I found about more: He was working for LGBT outreach. He was donating to her campaign.

He was with the mayor's office in Jersey City. Political staffers are generally "at will" employees. The mayor cannot have an LGBT outreach staffer who is donating to a openly homophobic candidate. Discussion is in the article:

She is now gonna run for congress against Dan Crenshaw (R) in Texas.

Definitely worth reading about and definitely deranged. We've seen anti-immigrant stances from Latinas, but non have threatened public executions.

The video is on twitter and I know many can't see it. (Especially since twitter blocked the embed due to the violence)
I searched for the video on other sites and the only site you can see the video with out accessing twitter is the Daily Mail

Still...she wants revenge against people like the guy who burned the lady in the subway. I don't know her mindset. In countries like Colombia and Mexico, there is likely more vigilantism since law enforcement is not as reliable as here. That's about all I can think of. I did look up vigilantism in Colombia and it is more common there than in the US.

Terrorism and vigilantism are not the same thing. I get the impression she thinks vigilantism is OK. Her brother got fired from a job because she was burning books as a political stunt. He worked for an elected official in New Jersey. This is from a previous failed election in Missouri. She isn't running in the valley or South Texas.
She's running in NE suburban Harris County and Montgomery County. (Conroe area) The area has demographics similar to Mike McCaul's (R) district.
