BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) Buc-ees is prepared to take action against an unofficial store named Buk-iis in Matamoros.
An off-brand version of the popular store is opening as a super mercado in Matamoros. A report by KDAF, our sister station in Dallas, stated the store will sell grocery items and international beers.
Buc-ees general counsel Jeff Nadalo released a statement to ValleyCentral in reference to the store opening.
The Buc-ees brand represents clean restrooms, freshly prepared food, and great service. Buc-ees has invested heavily in innovation across the company to create and maintain these award-winning guest experiences. Accordingly, Buc-ees will not stand as an idle spectator while others use without permission the intellectual property that Buc-ees has cultivated for decades, the statement reads.

Really?
I think every country in the world should have a Buk iis, then Buc-ees can sue every country in the world. So, stupid.
H-E-B doesn't sue over this place

(15,164 posts)Let's say they wanted to expand in Mexico in the future. This Buk-ii's could then sue to stop them from doing so.
From my limited understanding, if a company allows a trademark violation to go unchallenged, it makes fighting other ones much more problematic.
Wonder Why

(15,164 posts)Cheaper gas than most anywhere else, fantastic restrooms, an ample sized dog walking area at each one, and the BBQ Brisket sandwiches are delicious. I look forward to stopping at them on my way down I75
I bet the fake Buk-iis offers none of the above.

Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton, Speaker of the Texas House Dade Phelan, and former speaker Dennis Bonnen. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Aplin has given the most to Abbott: $1,025,000 to be exact. Donations to other PACs range from $1,000 to $375,000.
Since July 14, Aplin has donated $490,000. More than half of those donations have gone toward Abbotts PAC."...(more)
