Voters fill 2 open seats in North Charleston City Council special election

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Voters in North Charleston filled two city council seats in a special election Tuesday held in the wake of a corruption investigation.

Stephanie Ganaway-Pasley won the District 3 seat with just over 32% of the popular vote, according to unofficial results from Charleston County.

Christopher Emde won the District 5 seat with 31.5% of the vote.

The special election was a plurality election, which means the candidates who received the most votes in their individual races won the election.
