Lancaster city mayoral candidates to face off in debate this weekend

The two Democrats running for Lancaster mayor in the May 20 primary will debate this Saturday.

The meeting between Jaime Arroyo and Janet Diaz, who both sit on the City Council, will be hosted by neighborhood group South Ann Concerned Neighbors and the Lancaster chapter of the National Action Network.

The debate is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in the Multipurpose Activity Center at Thaddeus Stevens College. The debate is open to the public.

Darlene Byrd, leader of South Ann Concerned Neighbors, said residents will have the chance to ask each candidate questions during the debate. Organizers will also prepare questions for Arroyo and Diaz.
