(3,585 posts)3. The one I ate this week was my first taste of an heirloom tomato, it was just a whim that had me
grab it at Walmart (or Lowes) when I was grabbing random tomato plants to see which would do well in my new desert location at 5100 feet. The Cherokee Purple seems to be doing great and the plant is robust and producing many tomatoes even though we have had a number of 100 degree days recently.
Tuesday I had decided to try more Heirloom varieties and seeing your video has inspired me to soon order seeds for a large sample of Heirloom plants, I don't really have the space or water for a large plush garden so my intent is to continue what I did this time, plant one each of different tomatoes for fun, experimentation, and sampling, except this time make all but 1 or 2, Heirlooms.
