4. IKR! ... I always laugh a little when I see that face. At least it won't be ice, freezing rain and sleet this time.

Though the wind could still knock down trees, spontaneously prune weak limbs and knock out power.

Thanks for the reply, Deuxcents. ❤️

Literally everyone else died. The girl was here but she went to Peru. Smart girl. She's the real smarty pants.

I've decided to hang blankets in the doorways so I've crafted some expansion rods and blankets with hoops with clips to put on the rods. I may also do the front and back outside facing doors if this seems to help keep the warmth inside. I'm dreading the power bill.

The clips are rough on the fingers but it's something to do short of sewing, putting buttonholes in the blankets. Maybe a little more expensive but the blankets were on sale.

The wind is supposed to be brutal so every little bit helps.

I really like your moniker. I have French Huguenot ancestors and love the language.

I hope for the best for you and your family. Thank you for your kind words.❤️

7. Like you, it's just me and my kitty, Ruby. I have lots of family about 150 miles away and I like it on the Gulf side

I’m French on my father’s side..they came to the New Orleans area before it was New Orleans in the 1600’s. Ancestry is really fun! Sounds like you’re pretty resourceful but then, we gotta be. Don’t know where you are but here, we’re having the coldest winter in 15 years or so the local weather person says and I believe it. Usually cold for a day or two and it’s back to warming up but not this year and even the snowbirds here are like..what’s going on?! Lizards stunned by the cold n dropping out of trees and the manatees are all huddled together to keep warm..there’s a manatee park near me and it’s packed with people watching them. O, well..’Tis the season 🥶

That I only saw once and wish I had a copy of and it was a Lord's Proprietors land grant that was pre statehood. One of my grandparents had it for years. But I wasn't really into genealogy then. Later I was able to trace one line to 1603 but hit a brick wall. I really love genealogy.

I'm on the Carolina coast. But I've lived in Maine and New Jersey which were much colder than here.

The cold is just something I roll with. I actually prefer it to the heat. The short days are what I don't like.

It's been weird here. Very unpredictable, 60s one day and 30s the next. Quite odd. I monitor the fluctuations so I can plan my activities and I'm fine.

Thanks so much for the chat, Deuxcents.

Last week was a big deal for us because ice, sleet and freezing rain and the possibility of power loss which didn't really materialize in our area. School has been remote every day this week and tomorrow it's just closed. The roads are still bad due to ice. I haven't gone out until today and there are still bad areas between my house and town; I would not even go out my driveway yet in my car. mr liberty came home for his weekend and I had him drive me to town in his truck.
The last report I saw for us for this upcoming storm was 4 -6 inches snow. We're right up against the southern slopes of the Brushy Mountains, so when it comes in from the south we usually get hammered. This is tracking a bit further east though, so we'lll see. I'm ready for it as much as can be. I can get by without going out until next week.

Some dumbass could be out in it tomorrow, hit a tree and take out power for half the county anyway.
