(436 posts)Try to go someplace every weekend. Banner elk is about 45 minutes from us and we visited there a couple weeks ago. Grandfather mountain last week. And today we went to Linville falls. We have so many cool places here in WNC. I think tomorrow we may go up on Mount Mitchell

(11,373 posts)Boone and Banner Elk area, in the foothills. My husband's spent more time up there than I have; he was born and grew up here in NC and I was born here but grew up in Fla and moved here as an adult. Several of his friends went to App State
