Cuomo's camp raised $390K in 36 hours after Adams dropped out
Andrew Cuomo raised more than $390,000 for his mayoral run in the immediate aftermath of Mayor Adams’ suspension of his reelection campaign last weekend, indicating the incumbent’s exit from the race is giving Cuomo a boost as he scrambles to catch up with Democratic front-runner Zohran Mamdani.
The Cuomo camp’s $390,763 haul came from 1,714 individuals in the 36 hours after Adams announced this past Sunday he was ditching his bid for a second term, the ex-gov’s latest fundraising disclosure released Friday shows.
Cuomo’s sizable post-Adams announcement cash rush is part of roughly $940,000 the ex-governor raised in total during the latest reporting period, which spanned between Aug. 19 and this past Monday. That means the post-Adams dropout haul represented 42% of the total amount of money Cuomo pulled in over the latest period.
“Momentum is on our side at exactly the right moment,” Bill Mulrow, Cuomo’s campaign chairman, said in a statement.
