32BJ SEIU endorses two Jersey City mayoral candidates
32BJ Service Employees International Union, a major property services union, endorsed both Jersey City Councilman James Solomon and Hudson County Commissioner Bill ODea for the Jersey City mayorship on Thursday.
The dual endorsement comes as a field of candidates looks to succeed Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, who is running for governor. 32BJ SEIU Vice President and New Jersey District Director Ana Maria Hill said both candidates have shown they can work on behalf of working-class people.
Both Councilman Solomon and County Commissioner ODea are proven fighters for working people, Hill said in a release. They both stand up for Jersey City essential workers fighting for their fair share of the citys economic gains, as well as tenants demanding safe, secure and affordable places to live.
32BJ SEIUs executive board voted to endorse both candidates, according to the release.
