President Donald Trump says the Iranian president is asking for a ceasefire and claims the nuclear threat from Tehran has been dealt with. Trump is also telling allies that it's up to them to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting to a British newspaper that he is considering leaving NATO. Former State Department official Jon Alterman joins the show from Washington, D.C. to discuss what happens next.

A recent short animated documentary drives home the vulnerability of these prisoners. Hoda Sobhani directed the documentary and joins the show to discuss it.
