take the shot! Normally I would not shoot into the east at sunrise, guaranteed to catch a silhouette and nothing else. But a somewhat rare bird departed MacDill AFB this morning, 3nm and 12k ft so I took the shot and glad I did. Rule broken #1, it was overcast, how low were the clouds, would it be above the clouds? Rule #2 broken, shooting into the rising sun, but catching the sun on the underside of the wing delivered a dramatic shot with just a touch of wing fluff where it meets the fuselage. The second shot I accentuated the silhouette as it had passed by.
The E-6B Mercury is an airborne command post and communications relay. Since this administration came to power, most if not all military aircraft have stopped broadcasting their callsign and no registration can be seen, so I can't identify the particular aircraft.

(157,034 posts)The first took my breath away! The second is dramatic as we gaze at its silhouette.
And I don't think you broke any rules!
