New underwater camera

OM System Tough TG-7
It's an expensive hobby! My beach cameras usually last for about two years. This arrived yesterday, can't wait for the sun to come up so I can get down there and try it out.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has one of these and what you think.

To memorize all the functions; it's very hard to see menus on the beach and I need to learn them all by heart. But first use is encouraging. Colour is very good, so is the 1cm focus mode.

Quality is excellent for a 12mp camera. I think we get sucked in by megapixels and not lens quality. Self timer can be customised to take interval shots and there's a remote control available as an extra which I might get. Using self timer underwater seems to heat the camera up and cause a bit of fogging.

Still a lot to learn, but I got all summer.

Test pic in aperture mode.

Its a great camera. I'm an avid underwater photographer. My friend has one of these and the Macro is incredible underwater. If you go diving with at any depth make sure to get an underwater housing.

Than a bit of snorkelling on the reefs and poking the camera into cracks and crevices on a selfie stick. I agree about the macro - it's pretty impressive and there are other features that I love already. Haven't had it in the water yet - maybe at the weekend.
