The other faders are cool. Every time I see the terracotta soldiers I half expect them to come to life like in the movies.

My personal favorites are the first one (where is it? It's beautiful; I actually gasped when I saw it) and of course, the panda.

which makes me cry.

I just watched the movie Tracks on Amazon and the kindness shown for the camels. They were not lead by a painful nose pierce.

highly valued. All were extremely calm and well cared for. When we went out into the Gobi, young boys took the leads, but the camels just walked on either side of the camel herder. No one jerked the animals. I found this article you might want to read. I would say that the camels were the major source of income for the family. They are offered for treks in the desert during summer (tourist) season and then moved to the north to graze. In fact, they were dismantling their gers the day we were there.

Some day, I’ll find 24 days in row to go exploring.

Some day in the distant future……

what does an adventure like yours cost?

I'm retired and figure I have one big trip in me.

It looks absolutely stunning.

$3000 to $5000 on average. Then airfare is from maybe $800 to $2000, economy class. Depending on the tour you take, you may have to add in meal expenses. I did a tour in China. I travel by myself so have a 'supplement' charge for single rooms.
I am traveling in Mongolia on my own. Booked my hotel in Ulaanbaatar and set up my own excursions and transport to/from airport.

I would highly recommend China Tours. com. There was only one other lady on the tour with me. The hotels were 4 and 5 star. We took bullet trains between cities and the local guides were always waiting for us. I would rate them as excellent plus.
