That's a Pendleton "Chief Joseph" wool blanket. It's as warm as it is beautiful. I bought the Chief Joseph in particular because of the rich history of his Nez Perce tribe in this area of the Pacific Northwest (plus it was on sale at an outfitter in Coeur d'Alene!).

I actually considered applying for a job doing exactly what you do, only here in Lake County, CA on top of Mt Konocti. But shortly after that I met my soon to be wife, so I took a different path. Too old now, and still married to her. Great picture, as usual.

Thanks .. and you are never too old! I'll be 77 this coming fire season, and I plan on doing it another five years.
