(26,155 posts)The bowl is where the elk hang out. And it is where mountain lions and wolves look for lunch (the bears snack on the abundant huckleberries). I saw a mountain lion cross this road in almost this same spot in mid-August. On August 31 two bow hunters sighted a mountain lion in the bowl, and another bow hunter was charged by a large black bear. Last year I saw a huge bull moose trotting along this road. Almost every night in the lookout tower, I can hear the wolves.
