Musicians

I usually post in poetry. For the last maybe 5 months Ive been working as a lyricist for a band. They asked me to work on this project, but the musicians are all over the East coast and were all locked down (except the guy in Florida but he self-isolated.) So I have no music, but the doodling is supposed to be a guitar picking.

(621 posts)Right now everything is a song. If they dont get to actually become music, Ill probably take out the chorus and publish them as poems. This YouTube video was the first time Ive ever had an audience. I was so self-conscious that Id stop singing if someone came within hearing distance.

(621 posts)After every 4 songs they record that Ive written, the 5th recording session is for me. Theyll play and do backup vocals for me. So some of my song are kind of country, some are songs whose genre I dont know. Maybe alternative. I havent done any yet because they were in the middle of the 4th song when the virus hit.
Oh, if you like it, could you please hit the 👍 thumbs up spot.

(94,433 posts)I detected a little country-ish tone to it but I could even see (hear?) it as an acoustic thing.

(621 posts)After I write the songs, I email the lyrics and then I have to send them a video of me singing it. No picture though. I put my phone face down so its just a black screen. So I learned today, for the first time ever, that I make faces when I sing! But because I always send them with just my voice, I tend to try to make a noise that is somewhat close to the way an instrument would sound in certain places. So maybe it doesnt HAVE to have the guitar.
