Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays: Edith and the King Pin, Santa Barbara 1979.

They don't show the guys very much for good reason.



Man I wish I'd been in Santa Barbara with tickets for that one. I was living in LA at the time, but struggling a bit financially, traveling mostly by bicycle so there wasn't any way I could have got there, unless my girlfriend at the time drove me, but we were otherwise busy.

Broke as I was, however, I was paying for my ECM obsession with vinyl.

They were interesting songs, so top notch players were interested in playing with her.
It's that simple. She and her material were attractive to monster musicians.
