Don't like the remix. Makes it sound like elevator music.

(55,476 posts)and that's perfectly normal.
And versions of rock music that weaken/soften it ARE often described as elevator music or Muzak, and always have been.
"Ramble On" is not only arguably Led Zeppelin's best song, but arguably the best rock song ever. Here's one of the threads I've posted about it, with Rick Beato's two videos about it:

This remix you posted IMO interferes with everything that makes the song great.
FWIW, I consider remixes in general (with very very few exceptions) an inferior form of music, showing either fear of individual creativity - trying to hitch a ride on another artist's fame - or ego in the sense of believing the original can be improved upon. I always want to tell remixers to make their own music, using their own talent. Maybe do a cover of the song. But don't just remix it.

(49,388 posts)I seem to have run afoul of the classic rock purity police squad, eeeeeeeeeeeek.
OMG, Celerity is a Led Zeppelin blasphemer, put her in in the public stocks!
You also should know that I immensely dislike a lot of the music posted in this group, but I feel no need, no compulsion, to come up in those oh-so-numerous OP threads and try and have go.
But hey, it is a free (to a point) discussion board after all, so you lot keep doing you, and I will keep doing me.

I posted in this thread, when I would otherwise have ignored your OP because I don't like what you posted there, because your response to Figarosmom was so insulting and condescending. And you're doubling down on contempt for people who don't like remixes.
Someone who remixes music is really little different from someone who'd chop up a short story, rearrange it in places, put some parts in a giant font with others in a font so small they're nearly invisible, and call it art.
Or who'd take a painting, rearrange it, and add a filter or lots of different filters to all or some of it.
You'd be unlikely to find very many readers and art lovers applauding the changes.
I'll make exceptions for remixes done if there were audio problems with the original for one reason or another, though those can be bad, too, if ego's involved and the remix just messes up the original release.
But if someone wants a different version of a song, it's much more creative, and creatively honest, to record a cover than do a remix ripping off the original.
Celerity
(49,388 posts)the poster that their music posted needs to sound the original mix/version (implying that what they posted is unacceptable) nor have I called another OP's musical post 'elevator music', which for me is a real slag-off.
As for music remixes in general, they are both extremely common and often quite popular, at least in the real world, ie not DU.

(5,256 posts)And I gave you an opinion. Obviously you don't agree.
No where in my opinion did I disparage you personally, I just said the remix was a very simplistic rip off. I.e. elevator music.
And by the way my supermarket plays Zeppelin and they are far from " lit".
