Since no one knew lyrics I posted, y'all need some Jimmie Spheeris

He never wrote a top 40 hit, but his first album, “Isle Of View” is a stoned cold classic.

For I am the Mercury, light of the morning
Looking for shelter in this thunder and this rain

Say Isle Of View three times really fast.

For anyone who doesn’t know, in addition to being a talented musician/composer, he was filmmaker Penelope Spheeris’ brother.

My GF was really into JS. She was a big fan of the Moody Blues. JS backed them up on a tour and that’s where she saw him.

In 1973 we attended a concert by JS at the Greater Southeast Music Forum in Atlanta. Outside of Ian Anderson JS had probably the best baritone voice in rock. Butter!

The Moodies were also big fans!
