My older brother was lead guitarist of a Band that was Jackie Wilson’s band for a long time. They mirrored this kind of music. Anything with a big brass section and Funk, Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears and many more. “Hot Smokin Brass” was the name.
They were damn good. But one time opened for Mother’s and were a little cocky. They had a little tail tucking after.
But hella talented band.

You're not really a band just kidding of course. James Brown would have been great even with a lesser band, but he had Maceo Parker. And without James Brown and I wish the guy would be quiet, this is the best I've heard
