A $30 purchase of an old drawing at a Massachusetts house sale could fetch $50 million at a London gallery. It turns out it was an original drawing by Albrecht Durer.

Although the work includes a very prominent “AD” monogram (the most famous in art history), the Carlhian daughters did not believe it was authentic. One jokingly said to the buyer, “Oh, so you want the Dürer”.

4. "tag sales"

Not surprised your profile says 'Connecticut'.
I lived in Hartford 1968 - 1980 and held/attended 'tag sales'.

We moved to San Diego and the first time we had a 'tag sale' I posted signs around the neighborhood advertising our 'tag sale'.
Only a couple people showed up, and then only curious as what kind of tags we were selling.
I had to change all our signs to 'yard sale'. Then we got busy.
