Related: About this forumSo frustrated! I wanted to paint the cats for my son who is moving out. This one is beat all to heck
on the couch. For some reason, mixing triads that used to work are now graying out and getting the ugly freezer burned look.
But kiddo doesn't mind the imperfections, so he's taking it.

And the little island reminds me of The Little Island, one of my favorite childrens books, which contains a cat as a central character.

I don't see any mud in your colors. Or maybe I just like subdued colors.
I hope your frustration eases soon. You're so talented, and I hate to think of you not enjoying painting.
