(786 posts)It's interesting that the clothes are much more delineated. The others have softer folds. Perhaps it's in an effort to create depth or return the viewer's eye to the painting.

Pictured: a pentimento (a visible trace of an earlier painting) of the serving boy on the left can be seen behind the gold-robed apostle with Titian's face the boy was later repainted to appear in the doorway instead
