This month she was named a United States Artists Fellow, one of 60 artists nationwide to win a $50,000 cash prize. United States Artists is a Chicago-based arts funding organization. This year, in particular, judges were looking for art that would inspire curiosity, empathy, and action toward building a more honest and just world, said spokesman Robert Grand.

The quilts are awesome! By that I mean they fill me with awe. What a wonderful way to create as an artist! I would love to see her exhibit in person.
And to boot, shes a former aerospace engineer! And a Fellow in the National Endowment for the arts! I am humbled.
