What are the best watercolors?

I just saw a demo of some A. Gallo watercolors done by the watercolorist Emily Olson. They're handmade in Italy and pretty expensive. Are they worth it?

1. The best ones are the ones that work for you regardless of price. If it were as simple as buying ...

... the "right" paint, there'd be more fine water colorists. I know this because I can not do water color for beans.

pretty good.

i used to use derwent pencils and caron d’ache. i like sennelier pastels, so i’d trust their paints.
u should try them. very fun, and easy to use once u get the hang. makes a lot of the painful parts of wc easy.

7. I have 3 favorites

I like the creaminess of Rosa paint made from the Ukraine.
I guess it depends truly on what you like but the Rosa paints are more opaque.

I now use Schmincke which is a very good paint but added Daniel Smith in my pallet so I’m equally happy with most of them.

I think it depends on what your painting if you want a more transparent look or more opaque.

I believe the paper is the more important.
