I think you did a very nice job on this owl. I like the strong strokes and the way you applied the paint. You made the eyes stand out strongly by having the owl stare directly at the viewer. The directness and closeness made me feel a bit of the trepidation I would feel if looking at it in person. That also makes it an effective painting.

I also enjoyed looking at your additions to your blog. It’s always a treat! I love your botanical paintings! I’ve been thinking about doing similar paintings recently and your paintings are inspiring me!

I just recently started experimenting with watercolors. I've purchased a two-column set of flower books (used, of course), and they're illustrated with these amazing photos of flowers and plants. They've been fun to copy. The compositions are excellent, but I've rearranged them a bit. It's been fun exploring a new medium. quite a bit different than acrylics!
