I appreciate you sharing that.This black and white drawing by my boyfriend hangs on my wall. Kind of sad artist and cat are both deceased.

Matisse is my favorite Impressionist artists and has been a big influence in my art work. One of the things he always did was work on the interaction of the lines in his paintings with the edges of the canvas. Your window treatment with the edges of the canvas and the edges of the window sill is incredible. And your placement of the cat in the middle highlights the interplay of softly rendered shape of the cat and her pillow with the sharp lines of the window and the chair. It’s all definitely reminiscent of Matiss’s indoor paintings.
