These are a few more recent watercolors I've done. I'm new to the world of watercolors, so don't be too harsh in judging them!

(93,930 posts)I like that style, I learned it long ago when I was first getting into watercolors.
Funny thing, I have been going through all my "stuff" lately and came across an old workbook from decades ago with a few samples of such technique.
When I get all my stuff situated - purging junk and repackaging the keepers - I give myself permission to buy more paper and get back into all the painting and whatnot that I have waiting to be used.
Carry on, that style lends itself to that particular subject quite nicely.

(53,410 posts)and water colors! Its one of my favorite mixed medias! I like the feeling of simplicity that your depiction of Ukrainian churches has. The lines are excellent and the color washes are clean and pure making the paintings look light infused and clear. So another one of your experiments is successful. Outstanding! I cant wait to see you using watercolors when you feel comfortable using them!
Good job!

(2,693 posts)I would like to commend you for your excellent commentary. You are such a calm and encouraging voice, I like to think you teach people to paint. Art can be such a difficult life choice to make. It is a combination of physical and mental skills that only a choice few can succeed. And it is people with your voice and influence that can help an artist move forward with conviction. Thanks for being there.

(53,410 posts)It is precisely what you say about art being a hard choice that impels me to give critiques on what people are nice enough to show here. Its hard to post your art for all to see! I believe everyone who posts their art truly want responses that can be just a bit more than an initial reaction. I admire the artists who post here and respect their work so I like to tell them so. Your words are kind and encouraging and uplifting so I think you probably understand the value of heartfelt critiques. Thanks!
