(4,799 posts)You can tell. When I did a lot of musicals in community theater, choral harmonies was one of favorite things to do. We had a genius musical director who was and still is a gifted composer and lyricist, and I was fond of saying, "Steven Sondheim, eat your heart out! I've sung Dorothy --------!" I'm not sure it would be ethical to divulge her identity.
I'm of an age now where memorizing lines and lyrics is a bit more problematic, but I look back on those years with great pleasure.

Yes, SA sucks. But, Gloria Gayner, Donna Summer, Barry White and the disco masters gave me a reason to hit the dance floor for good times.

(11,388 posts)I was going to these concerts:
Yes, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Rush, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The Kinks, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Bruce Springsteen, (several multiple times) and more.
I was watching these movies:
Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Song Remains The Same, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Star Wars. Mostly at the midnight movies, lol. Multiple times. And more. We went to the movies a lot.
I shot about a thousand games of pool. Smoked a lotta joints. Sat in parties many weekend nights that ended with us all singing Beatles songs at 2 am, if we weren't at work, the pub shooting pool, at the movies or at a concert. Went to rock bars, danced there once in a while. It was just never my thing.
But I never went disco dancing; not once

(24,656 posts)Reminds me of sitting in the music library in 1975 analyzing Renaissance pieces. Everything was on vinyl.
