(298,171 posts)Ran away with it again tonight. Dont think he has the level of depth needed to go 30+, but he is very very strong in some areas.

(4,769 posts)The song that was inspired by Splendor in the Grass was Hey Deanie, recorded by Shawn Cassidy.
Not Jack and Diane.
From John Mellencamp's Facebook:
"According to Mellencamp, 'Jack And Diane' was inspired by the Tennessee Williams film Sweet Bird Of Youth..."
Probably wouldn't make a difference but it was wrong.

(298,171 posts)You sure got it right - beaten after 10 wins. A very good run Tristan Chris dethrones him with Sputnik.
Good call.😀

(1,120 posts)I think four of those wins have been runaways. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jamie Ding will do in the tournament. I expect Jamie to get invited to the Masters tournament as well, which to me is the ne plus ultra of Jeopardy.

(3,332 posts)Love the show BUT, from what I've read, they're Jitsie (Cheap) when it come to the contestants.
From the Show>>>> Contestants Pay Travel: , participants are responsible for their own flight travel and lodging expenses when competing in Culver City, California. Contestants must pay all fares, food (Uber-Cabs)
Yes..I know that the contestants are aware when they what sign up to be on the show.
Still ....the 2,000 bucks doesn't go very far....
Any thoughts?

Will respond later
Totally Tunsie
(12,051 posts)I seem to recall reading it in the fine print on many shows I might have been interested in, and then figured that after the flights, the hotel, and meals, it can be pricey if you don't happen to win. Somehow, a week on the beach in Bermuda usually becomes my choice!

(3,332 posts)'Bout two years ago, the not-winner got 1000 dollars. ...at least now the Jeopardy-bosses got in the ballgame..

(1,120 posts)There is one thing though; the show does arrange for discounted hotel rates. Which is something.
chouchou
(3,332 posts)That was in the Frontier days.
PS Type in "What are some expensive Hotels" There's some from 2,000 to 100,000 dollars....a night
Jesus Christ !!!
