smacking Peter Lorre in the role of Joel Cairo.
The earlier version has been largely forgotten.

Speaking of "Dracula", Dwight Frye, who played Renfield in the 1931 Bela Lugosi film also played Wilmer the gunsel in the '31 "Maltese Falcon."

An old favorite of mine.
Omar Sharif and Phillipe Noiret were good in it, too.
