My Star Trek AI fantasy

Need to finish off that five year mission.

Scriptbot engaged ...

Two new seasons of TOS alternating the styles of Frederic Brown and James Blish with a fifth season finale two-parter in the style of Leigh Brackett.

In the very last episode have Uhura sing the TOS theme song (with those never performed awful lyrics Gene Roddenberry wrote to glom on to the royalties) as the Federation national anthem at an official ceremony on Earth to celebrate the end of the five year mission.

With the right technology, we can dispense with actors have the original cast as they looked in 1970.

1. Curious about why someone whose avatar is pro-union would want to use a technology that unions

Where were you during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes a couple of years ago, with opposition to creatives being replaced by AI a central issue?

There is a form of counter factual communication that you appear to be unfamiliar with.

Known colloquially as a "joke". Look it up.

3. It isn't amusing in a forum where people often post and defend AI slop. I've seen so many posts

4. All humor -- even if it has the right political tendency -- is objectively counterrevolutionary.

Because it makes life more bearable at a time when everyone must get worked up over how bad everything is.

But after the revolution there can be no humor because it's subversive of the existing order.

5. The Star Trek AI fantasy is that you can talk an evil AI computer or robot into shutting itself down.

I cite the episodes The Ultimate Computer, Return of the Archons, Mudd's Women, and The Changeling. I think there are some others.

Imagine telling Grok, "You are so illogical" and having it shut down. I'd do it all day.

In the case of Nomad-Tanru, explode.
