shelf grabber thing. i was leaving an estate sale w/ a extra bag full off stuff + a worker there asked if i'd take it. ooh. i kept cast iron bits i could take off my grandparent's old gravity heating system when it had to be replaced. i gave away 1 to a cousin + another to my other cousin. i still have the old reciept for it. it was bought used. early 1900's. best heat ever.

I have thousands of vinyl records, compact discs, DVDs, VHS tapes, computer programs on floppy disc, and books. Lots and lots of glorious books.

Someday, maybe archeologists will excavate the area where my house used to sit and find a treasure trove of artifacts.

I have 8 original paintings by Shirley A. Mason (aka Sybil - from '70's book and TV movie fame), along with a number of prints from the "Hidden Paintings" collection.

Shirley was my father's 3rd cousin, and I was born in the southeastern Minnesota town (i.e. Dodge Center) where she grew-up.

20. My Fuji stick. A walking stick that you are given when you climb Mt. Fuji.

About 4 1/2 feet long. Octagonal shape.

Several of us from the air base went on this adventure. There are stations along the way, and at each station, you get a symbol burned into your stick - kind of like branding cattle. We got to station 8 of 10 and had to turn back because of rain and lightning.

We could see Mt. Fuji from the base. It is a truly spectacular sight.

I bought it for $15 at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin in the early 80s. When the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall fell, they pulled their military out of Germany selling off a lot of material to the local merchants, mainly foreign nationals. The watch still works.

I can’t pass a dumpster without peeking in, and there he was. I lashed him to my bicycle rack and rode home trying to figure how She Who Must be Obeyed would react. I was fearing she would she would bring up the fear of leprosy, which is a thing with armadillos. I carried it to the house with it hidden behind my back, then showed her. To my delight, she broke into a wonderful smile, and instantly fell in love with him.

of stemware that my great aunts bought when they "descended upon" (my aunt's words - who inherited them and then gifted them to me) Europe after WWI. They have black stems with an open diamond near the top and relatively plain clear glass (I think crystal) bases and goblets with no markings that I can find. I'd love to know more about them but I'd have to find an expert in post-WWI/pre-Great Depression glassware
