Irvin and Stella laid three eggs, but only Ocho hatched in March. The appropriately-named Ocho is the eighth eaglet to hatch at the U.S. Steel nest. The nest was built along the Monongahela River in 2019, and a wildlife camera has been livestreaming the family since 2021.

crossed to get to school, I didn't know they had a nest that near.
Almost looks like Ocho is playing with their reflection in the water's surface

(32,875 posts)10. He accidentally fledged when he fell out of his nest tree about three weeks ago ...
and being the only eaglet to hatch out of that nest this year explains why the locals are aware and protective of him.
