George Clooney expose on the sexual abuse of male athletes has been released by
HBO/MAX.
Id like to know if former OSU wrestling 🤼 coach and
current GOP Congressman Jim Jordan is mentioned in it by name.

(56,121 posts)Unlike the kids, this was an adult, a professional person. The doc could have taken the kids' scholarships away or gotten them knocked off the team. He had nothing like that on this referee, but the referee froze in the moment, and decades later he broke down talking about it. Which gives some indication of what the kids, for whom Strauss was in a position of power, went through.
The referee left the locker room and ran into Gym Jordan. He told Gym what had happened. Gym said, "Yeah, well, that's what Strauss does."
Then, when the shit hit the fan, Gym called the complainants crying and begged them to say he had no idea what happened, when everyone knew he did.
Jordan is disgusting.

(13,400 posts)Jordan's office denied these accusations in a statement to WOSU.
Chairman Jordan never saw or heard of any abuse, and if he had, he would have dealt with it," Jordan's spokesman Russell Dye said in a statement.
Dye did not answer questions about whether Jordan himself ever suffered abuse at the hands of Strauss. The documentary claimed Strauss had a locker next to Jordan and showed photos that were taken of Jordan as a wrestler by Strauss.

I've been waiting for this documentary to come out for several years. I'm glad it's finally out. I'll definitely watch it....

(9,602 posts)I just finished watching it. The creators did and excellent job.
Jim Jordan is for sure called out. He's shown denying he knew anything and a significant number of men who this happened to are front and center. They discussed how it would have been impossible for Jordan to not know. In fact, one of the former students actually told Jordan what had happened to him. Jordan's response was you know that's just how Dr. Strauss is (or something like that).
I'm wondering why the female fencing coach who REALLY tried to do something on several occasions wasn't part of the documentary. Her daughter was and discussed details regarding how her mother got involved. My assumption is that the former coach has passed or maybe is incapacitated (?)..Was there some kind of wording (when the daughter was speaking) what happened to her mom - the former fencing coach?

(686 posts)Especially towards the end when they had current videos of him denying his knowledge of the atrocities in a very subdued manner, no yelling or any of his disgusting antics.
