As I was talking to this guy in his driveway to gather info, a donkey comes to the fence nearby and begins braying at the top of his lungs. I couldn’t even hear the guy’s responses, so I asked WTF is his problem. He said the donkey just wants to say hello. I went up to the donkey, we chatted a bit, and he sauntered off into the pasture. I never neglected a donkey’s feelings after that.

When we visited my in- laws, I would take my walks along a canal road near their home. When I came to one little farm, there was a large enclosure with a horse, 2 goats and a donkey. As soon as I came into view, the donkey would start braying and come over to the fence. I would pet him and talk to him and he would talk back. He was so friendly. The horse and goats ignored it all. Made those walks special. I was so disappointed one visit when they had closed over the canal and closed the road along side.
