Canning and selling New Haven's tap water to make your own authentic pizza!

Not kidding. One of the 3 iconic pizza makers in New Haven is selling tap water! See here https://www.nhregister.com/food/article/new-haven-canned-water-modern-apizza-ct-19959499.php

I guess it makes sense. New Haven is known for its pizza, but I doubt that it has anything to do with the tap water.

My guess is that of the three most famous NH pizza places -- Pepe's, Sally's and Modern -- only Modern is stepping its game in order to get some more customers.

Pizza is excellent here, no doubt. It raises the bar on all the other pizza places who compete in little places in New Haven's neighborhoods. I've never had a bad pizza in all my 30 plus years living here.

In fact, pizza is standard order after Yale games played at home in the Yale Bowl. We tried to call for take-out after the last Yale game of the season and we were outta luck -- they simply couldn't take another order!

We ended up with Chinese take out.

... bottling and selling tap water is not only silly, it ought to be illegal, since tap water is a public resource.

My guess is that it was a short lived stunt and Mayor Elliker just let it go forward.

...in Chicago for just filling 5 gallon cooler bottles with city water.
They probably got stung more for claiming it was somehow better.
But, they got a huge fine & a lot of bad publicity.

I can't stand to drink anything in a can because it always has a metal aftertaste, but I might just be weird.

I think I'll stick to Detroit style. Local bias, lol.
