The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsThe TV commercial I hate the most is ...
the Cheez-it one with the slobby guy shedding his clothes, sliding on his stomach, gobbling the crackers. It makes me want to throw up. I hate it!!

(25,783 posts)I posted this on December 20th - A new low has been reached in advertising - talking pee and poop emojis.
Just yesterday, I saw a new ad campaign for Pull-Ups training pants. If I had kids or grandkids of an age to need training pants, I would NOT be buying this brand.
It features a talking drop of urine and a pile of poop with a vaguely British accent. The emojis are sitting on a roll of toilet paper, discussing how proud they are of a child learning to use the bathroom. They even have names - Yureen and Terd. How crude.
Seriously???!!! I thought the Dude Wipes commercial was gross enough. No dignity, no sophistication.

I also despise the perennial most-frequently-mentioned Kars For Kids atrocity, and the Jardiance ads. I'm sick to death of the Flo/Progressive ads, especially Jimmy and the whiny-voiced girl with the sourpuss face.

attention back when Burger King introduced their creepy king character 3 decades ago. I guess provoking positive good vibes has been overdone in ads. And look at us: we remember the names of the products.

Fortunately I live in an area with plenty of first-rate steakhouses, so I don't ever have to patronize Outback again.
