Okay, It's Official...

2025 officially sucks and is not getting off to a good start at all. Lots of people dying yesterday, including my next door neighbor. Not the one who had a heart attack, the one who moved in three months ago, young man, early 20s, in a rehab program. The young Black man who lived across the driveway from me earlier last year died ten days ago.

I was sitting here reading all the bad news about death and decline when I noticed a lot of activity outside. I knew that a new neighbor, another person altogether, is moving into a separate unit.

Not looking good there, 2025.

Ship of Fools
World Party
Written by: Karl Edmond De Vere Wallinger

We're setting sail
To the place on the map
From which no one has ever returned
Drawn by the promise of the joker and the fool
By the light of the crosses that burn
Drawn by the promise of the women and the lace
And the gold and the cotton and pearls
It's the place where they keep all the darkness you need
You sail away from the light of the world
On this trip, baby

You will pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow, yeah
You will pay tomorrow

Save me
Save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools, no, no, no
Oh, save me
Save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools, no, no, no

I want to run and hide
Right now

Avarice and greed
Are gonna drive you over the endless sea
They will leave you drifting in the shallows
Or drowning in the oceans of history
Traveling the world, you're in search of no good
But I'm sure you'll build your Sodom, like you knew you would
Using all the good people for your galley slaves
As your little boat struggles through the warning waves

But you don't pay
You will pay tomorrow

Finishing my thought above, I heard a lot of activity in the driveway so I got up to look out and see what was up. I saw the whole driveway and parking area filled with vehicles, some of which I recognized but what made me go outside was that I saw the coroner standing out there talking to some guy while my site manager was standing off by herself leaning on my vehicle not looking happy. I asked her about the parade and she came over and informed me that my neighbor passed last night.

Didn't really know him, met him once. Asked him to be more responsible about his dog. I don't know what happened to him but whatever it was, it took him with it.

Healthcare, old-age retirement homes, long-term care, hospice, mortuaries. All part of their sucking the last few cents before the body is worthless.

about canceling 2025 …he might be right….

Big hugs, 2na…

Here’s my “Final Song” that’s kinda appropriate for all. By…Tony Dekker. It is mine.

Final Song
When my race on this earth is run
When I take one final trip
When I fly into the horizon
When my body has lost its grip

Won’t you think of me in a good light?
Won’t you think of me with a smile?
Won’t you think of me by the water?
Won’t you think of me once in a while?

When the spell is finally broken
And the magic has long gone
When I drift into the other side
When I’ve sung my final song

Won’t you think of me in a good light?
Won’t you think of me with a smile?
Won’t you think of me by the water?
Won’t you think of me once in a while?

When my head rejects my body
When my arms don’t know my legs
And my fingers aren’t doing any good no more
And my mouth spits only dregs

Won’t you think of me in a good light?
Won’t you think of me with a smile?
Won’t you think of me by the water?
Won’t you think of me once in a while?

Borowitz piece about an hour before all the commotion. I'm a little creeped out but not entirely... I didn't really know him, I did see him come home last night, I was on the porch and he rode in on his bike with headphones on, like a ghost - is what I thought at that moment. I went in the house and never saw or heard of him again until I was checking out what was going on. By then he was bagged up and in the SUV already.

I'm more concerned about the site manager, she was looking pretty bewildered. She's worked with a lot of the youth and young adult programs in the county and knows all the players so I can imagine this hit her rather hard. The look on her face was telling.

I just got back form my other neighbor's, the one with the heart attack and the kitties. We needed to talk about it because she witnessed what was going on at that unit before the coroner showed up. But her son was playing in a basketball game so we had to watch that, his team (MSUB) smoked Western Oregon U.

It's all just such a surreal beginning to the year.

And they are getting a little longer each time. I have plenty to do right now so I have plenty of distraction.

As I have been known to say, this kind of stuff is why I smoke pot and go to therapy every week.

I'm working on it, have been since I stumbled in here three+ years ago. But I might get lucky this year and get out of here.

I found out about an hour ago that a friend of ours was found dead in her home this morning. Her coworkers became concerned when she didn't go to work. She was in her early forties.

Definitely on the creepy side so close together.

Hope22 has the right idea.

May things calm down for a good while in that area!
