All I know is, I have a mission to complete and I'm looking forward to that. Hope there aren't many obstacles along the way.

Action plan. The next nice weather day my buddy will come over with his charging unit and I'll try the reprogramming ritual and see if that works. If it does, I.m good to go. If not, I called a guy in LA, a fellow DUer recommended his web site which prompted me to call, who works on BMW electronics. He can repair my fob and change the battery if needed. There are a couple things that go wrong with it and he knows how to fix it for $70 in about two weeks total including shipping time... since I have an original key.
The dealer from whom I ordered one is sending my money back.
Things should be moving right along in the next few weeks, been plugging along with the consolidation program all along too so things are on schedule with the timeline.
I want to have the whole show over with by planting season.
