If I'd ever met Jimmy Carter, here's the question I'd have asked him.

Years ago I saw a documentary film about him. I think it was the one titled, "Jimmy Carter, Man from Plains" (2007). Much of the film I remember seeing consisted of the former president sitting in the back seat of a limousine being whisked through urban cityscapes while he answered questions from an unseen interviewer.

Ever since seeing that film, I have wanted to ask Jimmy Carter this question: "Sir, do you EVER have to actually STOP for stop signs and red lights?" I hope that question would have gotten a good-natured laugh from all present, including Carter himself. That certainly is the spirit in which I would have asked it.

Rest In Peace, Mr. President.

The line was long and he barely looked up until my daughter told him how much she admired him. He looked up, smiled at her and chatted with her for a few minutes.
