2024 for the most part 🖕
Overall I guess we as a family are okay but this has been a rough one.
My wife is still grieving harshly the death of her father on November 5th. It wasnt unexpected as he was under hospice care. She was in the room when he passed in Georgia. She hates that I mentioned this at one of our ER visits since then. The paramedics were here again last night - everything checked out physically - once again they delicately tried to stear her towards acknowledging that its stress or anxiety. Try convincing your wife its all in her head. Very stressful job doesnt help. We finigled her an initial primary care appointment for today. Theres normally a 6 month wait right now for initial primary care appointments. I have one set for her with my doctor but its not until June.
That same night, November 5th, I was at home. The dog came around the corner of the house while we were both outside. He was split open. Best guess is that it was a raccoon. 5-6 inch gash on his side. I could post a pic. He had to stay the night at the emergency vet. Just a flesh wound (not to make a joke) luckily. 2 weeks of cone time followed.
November 5th was a real trifecta of
.
A few days ago, I open up Facebook to find that an old friend of my wifes had died. She started getting physically sick Christmas Eve (Norovirus is running rampant in that part of the state) and the day after Christmas she died. Probably a heart stoppage of some sort. 1/2 the fire department was there but they couldnt do anything. Sweet constantly bubbly a joy to be around despite a tough upbringing. Shed finally by all accounts met a good guy and got married last summer. Let me tell you, if the reception is at an Elks Lodge you better have the next day off. Great time. This has totally unexpected.
We still have it good really. Our daughters doing great (you all saw the sweater she made me for Christmas). Both grandmas are doing well and my stepfather is still going well at 95.
