It was a yearly battle I had with my mother but she always won. I begged her to keep the tree up so we could have it for New Years Eve but nope. She said once the presents were gone it wasn't a Christmas tree anymore. It was down & everything Christmas packed away before noon on Dec 26. When I was about ten I started making sure to spend the night at a friend's house on NYE, cuz everyone's home was more festive than ours.
